Pinocchio

一、文本分析:

What本文节选自课外阅读刊物《英语阅读精选》第一辑,原著为The Adventures of Pinocchio,是一部脍炙人口的意大利著名童话,是一本图文并茂、语言诙谐有趣,通俗易懂的童话书。本文章通过一系列扣人心弦的情节:匹诺曹的鼻子一说谎就会变长;孩子会因为贪玩变成驴子;还有那位永远不放弃对孩子的希望,有着天蓝色头发的仙女……能让同学们体验到匹诺曹成长的喜怒哀乐,从变化无常的生活中,明白了许多浅显而意义深刻的道理。

How故事情节和语言对学生而言难度不大。虽然有丰富的句型,部分生词,但是学生应该也能大致猜测出句子含义,从而掌握故事的来龙去脉。从写作手法上来看,这是一个很标准的童话故事,背景,开端,发展,高潮和结尾都设置得非常清晰明了,而且还设计了三个冲突对比,学生必须读懂人物的内心感受才能真正理解成长的意义。

Why:作者意欲揭示的道理并不复杂,它倚借一个木偶的形象,不过是为了向我们演绎一个人由不完美走向完美、由不幸福走向幸福的曲折历程。这篇童话,通过皮诺曹的种种曲折、离奇的经历,表现小木偶热爱正义、痛恨邪恶、天真纯洁的品质,教育儿童要抵御种种诱惑,做一个诚实、听话、爱学习、爱劳动,并能帮助父母的好孩子。作者成功地塑造了小木偶的形象。他聪明、善良、顽皮而又任性,他的故事给孩子们以有益的教诲和艺术的感染。

二、教学设计

Teaching objectives:

By the end of the lesson, the students are expected to be able to

1. know the basic characteristics of fairy tales;

2. organize the plots of the fairy tale according to different experiences;

3. read a character through words, actions, thoughts, feelings;

4. form a positive attitude to all kinds of experiences in life and learn to resist temptations.

Teaching procedures:

Stage1 Pre-reading

1.Free talk: Do you know Pinocchio? How much do you know about him?

2.Introduce more information about The Adventures of Pinocchio.

【设计意图】围绕主题创设情境,引出话题,激活学生原有经验和认知,引导学生关注书本封面,引发阅读期待。

Stage2 While-reading

Step1 Fast- reading

1.       Ask the students to skim and scan the whole passage and find out the answers to the following questions:

When and where does the fairy happen?

Who does Pinocchio meet in each chapter?

2.       Inspire the students to predict what other information the fairy tale will talk about:

What will happen to Pinocchio and other characters?

3.       Introduce the elements of a fairy tale: Setting, Characters, Plot.

【设计意图】引导学生通过略读和跳读找出这个童话故事发生的背景环境和人物。通过预测判断出童话故事将会发生的情节。从而归纳出童话故事的三要素,即童话人物,童话情节和童话环境。

Step2 Detailed-reading

Chapter1

1.       Guide the students to read Chapter1 and try to finish the relationship map.

【设计意图】引导学生根据人物线索梳理情节的发展。通过人物关系图的任务使学生理清人物关系和身份,了解匹诺曹的出世过程,初步感受匹诺曹的人物形象。

Chapter2:

【设计意图】通过比较探究本章节两次故事情节的发展,发现冲突,让学生总结出匹诺曹不能坚守初心是因为受到了诱惑。通过对文中有争议句子的解读,培养学生的批判性思维,树立正确的价值导向。引导学生学会通过人物的语言、动作、心理、感受等来解读人物形象。

Stage3 Post-reading

Step1 Sharing:

Invite the students to share experiences in groups

1.What temptations(诱惑) do you meet in your study or daily life when you intend to do something? How do you resist(抵制) them?

2.Do you think these experiences are worthwhile(值得的)?

Theme: Growing up is a difficult process. Experiences can make us stronger.

【设计意图】通过感受匹诺曹的成长经历,关联自身,引导学生学会抵制诱惑,并用正确的价值观对待人生的经历。

Step2 Homework

【设计意图】复述情节,回顾故事内容,写人物评论,进一步加深对文本的理解,利用课余时间阅读原版书籍,培养良好的课外拓展阅读习惯。
