Hello, boys and girls, nice to meet you .I’m your new friend ,Thank you for your help first.

Check your things on your desk :everybody has  pink paper, writing paper,a black pen,a small red card, a small orange card, and  each group has an envelope and a DIY work .right ?

      In this lesson, we will have a competition among 6 groups,(指着说):Group 1,Group 2, Group 3, Group 4, Group 5, Group 6 ,the best group will get a  medal and some presents. Please answer more questions to get more cards.You can put the cards in your group box. You can help each other ,and have fun working together. come on ,baby, Let’s go.

Step 1. Warming up

  1、  After enjoying our studentsDIY works. Lets do our own DIY jobs.

 Follow me.  Take out the pink paper.

  First, fold one side to the middle.

      Then, fold the other side to the middle.

      next, take out your black pen, and write down your Chinese name on  on both sides of the card.

      Finally, make it stand on the table, so that I can see

            your name clearly.  (clever / well done )

They are made by ourselves, so we can call them DIY works .(指着黑板红

色字母DIY说 )

2、 T:Did you make DIY works yesterday ?

S:Yes,

T:What did you make ?   S:...

T::How long did it take you to finish it ? S:

T:Did you make it by yourself ?    S:Yes.

 

3、 T:Did your group make DIY works yesterday ?

S:Yes,

T:What did your group make ?   S:...

T::How long did it take you to finish it ? S:

T:Did you have fun working together?    S:Yes.

 

Step 2. New words :

 Let me do a DIY job too.

   First, I have blown the balloons. (can you spell balloon ?)

   Then, draw a smiling face with the paint.

   Next, cut out a flower on the cover of the book.

        Oh,I made a mistake, something has gone wrong, I cut down the leaf

    of the flower, oh, I’m so sorry,  I’m  a little shy .can you

    keep it secret for me ? Thank you.

   Finally, stick the flower on the balloon.Now,I have finished my DIY  

  job. I can also say I have completed my DIY job.

T:Are they beautiful ?

S: Yes.

T: Really ?  so I can send them to my mother,because her birthday is coming.I think she will like them .

Step 3: Presentation

1、T:Now More and more people like making DIY works for their friends or  

   Relatives. Because The gift may be small, but the goodwill is deep.

   T:Look, here comes Suzy. She is also a DIY fan. Her mother’s

   birthday is coming. What did she make for her mother ? Let’s have a   

   guess.

   S:......

T:(Are they right ?) Let’s find  the answer in her diary.

T:Open your books, turn to page 52 ,read it by yourselves quickly, and   

  tell us what she made.

S: She made a card. 

 

2、T:Read with the tape and then answer more questions. (读完后)If you    

     can’t answer them by yourselves, you can discuss with each  

     other(help each other ), and answer more questions and get more cards

     for you group, OK?

     (try to be the best group,boys and girls, come on )!

3、T:In the diary Suzy has taught us how to write a diary about a DIY  

      story ?

      We should write from these aspects:  Structure,useful  

       expressions,Transitional words,Expressions about sequence,

       Other  aspects

 1)、the writing Structure of the diary:

   T: this diary has Three parts.

    Part 1:   Para 1 is introduction, (板书)

    Part 2:   para 2,3 are main body

Part 3:   para 4 is conclusion . (贴)

 What is each part about? The seven questions in the envelope will tell us.

    T: Please discuss in groups, and stick the questions on the right    

       place. The fastest group should come to the blackboard, and stick  

       your paper on the blackboard, your group will get 6 cards.because

       It is your group job, understand?

       she wrote what to make and why where she made it and Why in Part 1.

      She wrote how long it took her to finish it ,How she made it, her feeling, the two problems in Part 2.

       She wrote her hopein Part 3.

 

 

 

       

(2)Pay attention to useful expressions,they are on Page 52. You can use them in your diary when you write.

 (3) Pay attention to Expressions about sequence,

 (4)Pay attention to Other aspects: Date: When did we do our DIY jobs ? Yesterday.  So we should write our stories in the simple past tense.

 

Step 4 DIY competition

T: DIY is more and more popular, so Our school hold a DIY competition on

  New Year’s Day every year. Look, they are DIY works by the students   

  in our school . Are they beautiful ? So today we will hold a

  competition in your class too.I think you can make better works than  

  they . Yes or No ?

S:Yes

T:Come on, let’s start.

T: what shoud we do ?

   Task 1、Finish a DIY job (you have finished your group DIY works)

   Task 2、Write a DIY story    

   Task 3、Give us a show.

   we finished Task 1 yesterday,so now you can write your DIY stories on the writing paper.

   注意:(1)、Please Pay attention to structure of the diary.

   2)Work in groups of 6.  Discuss and share good ideas with each other. And each group need to write one diary. One of you write, the others give him/ her good ideas.

    (3) The best story will get 6 cards.

T: Let’s show our work and story. One student put up your DIY work, and one student read the story for us.(争取每组评讲到)( How beautiful./ Good jobs./   Well done. / Excellent/ good/ not bad.Thank you very much.)(敲章)

 

T: please stand in line,and give your cards to your favourite DIY work.

T: how many cards does each group have now ?

 

T: Group _______ gets the most cards, you are the best group.

T: Group______  Come to the blackboard. Here’s your golden medal.   

   Congratulations!

 

T: Are these activities interesting ?

T: Are they meaningful ?

T: Did you have fun working together ?

S: Yes.

T: SO

   Do things by yourself !

   It is meaningful and interesting !

   You can enjoy yourself !

   You can learn a lot !

   You can improve your skills !

   You can get the sense of success.

   You can save money !

   Enjoy your day and enjoy your life

 

T: But is there anything else about DIY ?

 There are many good ideas :

   make a card

   paint a room

   fix a bicycle

   make things from old things

   make biscuits,cakes or a pizza

   repair a computer,

   put together a piece of furniture and so on.

They are also DIY. Maybe you can try them after class.

 

Step 5. Homework.

    So today’s homework:  Choose one of the topics and write your own passage.Prepare for the presentation next period.
