1.About Teaching Material |

These are the last two periods of Unit 6 from Book 2. This part is about city exploration and publicity. It consists of two parts. The first part is about how much you know about the city Nanjing, followed by adapting the script of the listening material “The Travel Guide of Nanjing” into a ‘Tour Guide Speech’, and plan out a short 3-day stay of a specific city for Mike’s family, describing a travel destination and itinerary in detail. The second part is to watch a city promo video of Nanjing, to discover how the remains of past empires and ancient traditions gracefully intersect with contemporary Chinese culture, followed by brainstorming the key elements of making a city promo video, and making one by themselves to promote the culture and values of an assigned city. |

2.About Students |
|||
Generally speaking, students show more interest in real life skills. The topic we are going to talk about is about city exploration, which attracts the students a lot, they will surely show more enthusiasm and motivation in class. Besides, it’s necessary to assign some tasks beforehand for them to get them intrigued and prepared for the coming lessons. The last part is also attractive, students can use their major related software to create something new. |

They want to go to each city below for 3 days. n Task: Choose a specific city, and plan out a short 3-day stay for them. 2nd n Task: Make a city promo video by imitating the one of Nanjing shown in class. Your promotional video should be about 1 minute or less in length.
