在本书学习结束时,学生能够

(1)找出有关 Christian的生活场所、身边人物以及行为活动的信息,梳理故事情节发展的主线,并理解 Christian从笼中幼崽到居家宠物,再到草原雄狮的成长意乂;

(2)以 Christian的情感为主线,口头描述小狮子的成长故事,并阐释其情感变化的原因;

(3)从不同角度分析Ace和John饲养狮子作为宠物的安全性,推断他们将狮子放回非洲草原的理由和把野生动物放归自然所面临的困难;

(4)通过扮演不同的角色,对ACe和John的行为进行评判和论证,反思自己在生活中应该如何对待动物并发表自己的观点,从而加深对“自然才是野生动物最好的归宿”的认识。

教学过程：

Step 1 Cover analysis

Lead students to analyze the cover of the book. By analyzing the picture and the title, students should think about these questions:

1. Can you use some adjectives to describe the lion in your mind?

2. Try to guess: what is the lion like in this story?

3. What do you think might be going on?

Step 2 Check homework

Match the words with the right meanings.

Step 3 Read the contents

Ask students to divide the book into three parts.

Ask students match the main idea with the chapters.
