《无处玩耍》本科普类读物。本书介绍了孩子们在被污染的场地玩耍的情况以及孩子们参与染治理的情况全书约400词。本书通过介绍孩子们在被的场地玩耍的情况,传达岀"治理污染,保护环境的主题义。主要内容如下:孩子们都需要场地来玩耍,但是有些地区面临大量场地被污染的情况,孩子们竟找不到安全、干净的场地玩耍。有毒的海藻堆、垃圾场、污水沟和排水管都成了孩子们玩耍的天堂,而孩子们还没有意识到被污染的、不健康的玩耍场地的危害。作者最后呼吁人们保护环境,并提出保护玩耍场地的措施。

Activity 1 阅读封面,导入主题

学生通过阅读封面,回答老师的问题。

Questions:

4. What do you think might have happened to these children?

Activity 2  阅读书本,梳理信息

学生通过观察书本图片,根据问题进行预测,之后阅读相关文本寻找问题的答案,检测预测(完成学案);同时,在老师的帮助之下,利用语境和图片猜测相关词汇的词义,并进行学习。

Activity 3讲述故事,分析判断

Enjoy your reading time and check your predictions.

Read pages 4-5 and answer the questions.

1. Where is it?  It is a place with poisonous plant.

2. Can children play here? Why or why not?

No, they can’t.

Because some kinds of plants are poisonous. And they could make children very sick.

3. Why do you think children like to play here?

Because some children think it is fun to play in it.

Read pages 6-7 and answer the questions.

1. Where is it?  It is a rubbish dump.

2. Can children play here? Why or why not?

No, they can’t.

Because a rubbish dump is a very dirty place to play in. It is also dangerous.

3. Why do you think children like to play here?

Because they can look through the rubbish and find things they can make money.

Read pages 8-9 and answer the questions.

1. Where is it? It is a swimming place with full of rubbish.

2. Can children play here? Why or why not?

No, they can’t.

Because when children swim in dirty water, they can get very sick.

3. Why do you think children like to play here?

Because some people don’t have clean beaches or rivers where they can swim.

Read pages 10-11 and answer the questions.

1. Where is it?  It is in the drains.

2. Can children play here? Why or why not?

No, they can’t.

Because sometimes a pipe can break. Water can squirt out of the pipe. This water is not clean.

3. Why do you think children like to play here?

引导学生对污染场地提出改进的建议,同时增强安全第一,生命第一的意识;引导学生深入分析问题,培养学生的批判性思维。

Summary

Read the whole book again and summarize the situations of the four playgrounds,the reasons for the situations ,the bad effects.

 

 

Activity 4 Group work

Work in groups of four and each one choose a playground to talk about:

 You must include: the situation of the playground, the reason for its insecurity,                     its bad effects.

Work in groups of four and discuss:

What does the playground in your neighborhood look like?

Do you think it’s safe and clean? Why or why not?

How are these playgrounds in your neighborhood polluted?

Can you give some suggestions to help the playgrounds in your neighborhood become safe and clean?

Can you give some suggestions to help the playgrounds in the book become safe and clean?

Activity 5 Role play

The school radio station will invite you to do a report about how to protect our environment next week.

Be sure to include:

the environmental problems we are facing,

the bad effects of these problems,

the reasons for the problems and your solutions.

Homework

1.Make a poster about the bad effects of pollution and what we can do to protect the environment.

2. Search more information about the environmental problems and think about the solution, share in next class.
