本篇文章讲述了Finbo由于与小伙伴们玩捉迷藏时永远在输而否定自己大大的身材,母亲的安慰话语起初也并未起作用,直到他利用自己的大身材从鲨鱼处解救了小伙伴,才开始为自己的身材而感到骄傲,最后他又利用自己的喷泉创造了一个新游戏,让伙伴们看到一个更美更大的世界,也让自己变得快乐和满足。

作者通过讲述Finbo从否定自我到接纳自我,并利用自身优势帮助朋友的成长故事,从而要告诉读者要为“自己是谁”和“自己拥有什么”感到骄傲,看到自己的优势,从而擅用自己的优势,为身边人和自己制造快乐,从而实现自我。

(3)[How]文体结构和语言

本篇文章属于记叙文体裁,共四个章节,每个章节对应了记叙文的四个结构:beginning(开端)、development(发展)、climax(高潮)、ending(结局)。文章中运用了大量的对话、一些形容词来体现Finbo的情绪变化。每个章节层层递进,将Finbo由“小”变“大”,由输家变赢家的过程娓娓道来。
